Hi I am trying to bring one of the Audio FX Sound Board trigger pins to ground with a NODEMCU ESP8266. Bringing the pin to ground triggers the sound. I am powering both boards with 5.5V and they share power and ground. The logic on the ESP8266 is 3V. I have a wire going from PIN3 on the ESP8266 going to PIN5 on the sound board. Set the pins HIGH in your setup () routine, then pull them LOW for about 125ms when you want to trigger a sound.

Hello, Hopefully someone out there is familiar with the Adafruit Audio FX Sound Board. I am trying to figure out how to send serial commands to it in order to play the audio files on the board. Alas, my project cannot wait, so I am putting aside my Adafruit Audio FX Sound Board and investing with 11 triggers and in an MDFly MP3 module. It’s a bit bigger, and doesn’t include an amp, but costs less.
