The PC may encounter one or more monsters whenever they move into a land tile in the wilderness. The probability of an encounter is increased if the PC is cursed, or substantially increased if the PC is doomed. The following table lists all possible encounters, along with their relative probabilities and the minimum experience level required for each encounter to occur. how does one go about A random dual-ego weapon drop would be a great edition to these guys. Even better if it could have a random ’name‘ like the Chaos Diplomat’s rewards are named, but I appreciate that’s a lot more work. Dooming or Cursing, as might be expected from the names, is generally to be avoided. They result from committing acts that are very contrary to the PCs alignment.

A few games ago I found a stone spear of devastation. That was extraordinarily nifty and all Now I’ve found a stone axe of hunting (+0, 1d7+4). Not too shabby for my first non-iron weapon, and I’ve always really coveted the hunting suffix And always wanted to find prefixed and suffixed stone weapons for use against various slimes. Playing a dark elf and I never got Magic staves Masher Melee weapon prefixes Melee weapon suffixes Melee weapons Michals Transmogrifier Missiles Mithril battle axe Mithril broadsword Mithril dagger Mithril flail Mithril halberd Mithril long spear Mithril long sword Mithril mace Mithril rapier Mithril scalpel Mithril scimitar Mithril short sword Mithril spear Mithril two-handed

Where can I get a updated list of what the item Prefixes and modifiers? I use to have one for the older game but I much of misplaced it somewhere cause I can’t find it. What is the exact effect of Robes of Rage? MISSILE WEAPON MASTER — +3 to hit and damage in missile combat. liking them Prerequisites: At least 3 missile weapon affinities, Keen Shot, Alert Rating: 5 (3 for spellcasters, 7 for archers) This is the same as Eagle-Eyed, but much more expensive. It has 6 prerequisites, 3 of which (Alert and two of the three affinities) are not very useful.

Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven’t been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! I bet this are you is fixed, I get a boar skull on most games. Again grinding my first ultra and nope, no boar skulls, days rushing past and up to 6 boars. Of course no dooming weapon or dooming ring. Is it worth the corruption cost running around with crown of science?

adom had 4 ways to use weapons, one hand, one hander and shield, two onehanders and two handed weapon. The two handed weapon Self inflicted See also delivers most damage but defence is being lowered and the shield had reduced damage but greatly encanced defence.

Both the original Original Guidebookand the Improved Guidebookwere designed so that the content of the ADOM Manual would (mostly) not be repeated. This Single-file Improved Adom Guidebook, however, attempts to bring the manual information together with (much) needed details to help the player enjoy all that suh a complex game as ADOM has to offer.

Reading another thread made me think about whats the best item pre/suffixes are. For complete lists, see the Appendices of the Guidebook. I like weapons with the „of penetration“ suffix. Arrows of slaying, of course 🙂 Javelin of doom is a type of missile which can be thrown without requiring a missile very contrary weapon. They return when thrown, and make a character doomed while equipped. Dooming is a very dangerous effect in combat, thus javelins of doom are very impractical as missile weapons unless you can ensure that no monsters are in melee range or using ranged attacks/spells. Self-inflicted

See also Missile prefixes and suffixes. Slaying ammunition refers to any missile that is guaranteed to inflict a critical hit on a target if the monster is of a particular type (e.g., a quarrel of humanoid slaying always land a critical hit on humanoid opponents). Landing critical hits in missile combat is particularly notable as these deal up to five times the damage that would be dealt Same happens to my rangers, I end up with weapon marks all over the place, unless I decide on a weapon of choice ahead of time, but I feel that’s kinda how rangers are supposed to work, really. Be good in a lot of weapons so you can take advantage of any new awesome things that come your way. Axe of Minotaur is amazing, true.

This document lists all possible ego weapon prefixes, suffixes and their effects.) Edit 2: A couple of people suggested there could be named dual-ego armors as well/instead.

Most monsters in ADOM do not have access to ranged attacks, so attacking at range is far less risky than melee. Missile attacks Every character will eventually have access to decent missiles weapons (rocks, arrows, quarrels, slings, bows, crossbows). You can increase your effectiveness with missiles with the Good Shot/Keen Shot/Quick Shot line of talents. Watch out for ADOM (Ancient Domains of Mystery) is a Roguelike game by Thomas Biskup. Not to be confused with artifacts, special weapons are rare but non-unique weapons that carry ’special‘ modifiers that differ from more generic prefixes and suffixes. Unlike generic weapons, special weapons cannot be generated with generic prefix/suffixes but can be wished for with their special modifiers. For example, one could wish for a mace of destruction but could not wish for The only weapon suffix that is comparable to ‚of devastation‘ is ‚of penetration‘ – it does not add to your damage, as such, but against certain enemies, ignoring all of their PV is much better than + 4 damage dice and +6 damage. But yeah, devastation and penetration are pretty much the two most desirable suffixes. Let me elaborate on this a List of suffixes and prefixes. Anyone have a list of them and what they mean? For example i recently saw a weeping adamantium spear..but outside of the weeping in its name i can’t tell how its any different from a normal one (same dmg as a normal one) I haven’t yet finished an ADOM game, but i haven’t given up on trying yet either.

For example, I have chain mail that shows (-1, -3) [-3, +5] and heavy boots [+2, +1] and a broadsword that shows (+0, 1d7+4) I figure the 1d7+4 is the damage, but what are all the other numbers, and what do some numbers in parentheses mean, while others are in brackets? Thanks. Melee Weapon Master is again the main thing to go for, but since 2 handed weapons are out you actually have enough spare talents to go for Treasure Hunter – and may need it due to how important the Penetrating suffix is for you. Consider the Beast of Burden talent line due to how dangerous getting Burdened is. Desirability While swords of sharpness are superior to other swords in terms of base damage, two factors work against them: they cannot receive a magical prefix / suffix, and they are made of iron, which makes them vulnerable to item destruction, and rusting by a rust monster or immersion in water. Assuming they can be kept in good working order, swords of sharpness are one of the

I’ve survived dooming, stat loss, intrinsic loss, even elementals, but I have lost at least a dozen characters to pool sickness. It dealt something like 30-40 damage, and I never got a turn to use herbs. That’s an insta-kill for most characters less Or will „crap“ weapons with prefix/suffix work too? -Spiny nah, even some iron items that usually are going for a bigger bit of cash will be accepted – e.g. broadswords, battle axes, halberds and two-handed swords. Not sure if the gods won’t stop liking them at higher levels, but then you usually have boatloads of gold anyway. 02-20 Strength is one of the main attributes. The PC gets +1 to-hit and +1 damage in melee per 2 points above 12 Strength, and -1 to-hit and -1 damage per 2 points below 10 Strength. Whips do not get bonus melee damage from Strength, instead benefiting from Dexterity. Two-handed weapons get up to 50% extra damage from Strength, with the extra damage being capped at two times the

I don’t see any reason to use anything else unless it’s an artifact or something eternium/with a really nice suffix found early, spears seem to be the best under equal conditions. You hit the gnoll and moderately wound him. The gnoll seems to be corrupted. What is the practical value of this weapon? Am I ever going to smack anything enough to turn it into a puddle of goo? I found it in the PC:6 vault along with bracers of war. On my HE Archer. 29 Dx is easymode archery. 02-18-2013 01:50 AM Grond Ancient Member Number of reported issues by Grond: 973 Weapon suffixes don’t always change their damage

For weapons it’s (accuracy modifier, damage), so your battle axe has -3 accuracy mod. For armor it’s (melee to-hit bonus, missile to-hit bonus) [DV modifier, PV modifier]. Your chain mail has -2 and 5 and heavy boots 2 -4 penalties to melee and missile to-hit, it also decreases your DV by 3 while increasing PV by 4. If the light boots are (-1, -1) [+0, +0], then it’s not only a waste of space and weight limit
