Brought up in the Catholic faith tradition of northern New Mexico meant that public service and care for the broader community were values that were deeply instilled in Carmichael Dominguez from a young age. Carmichael first became an elected official as a Santa Fe Public Schools Board of Education member in 2002. As a member of the school board, Carmichael spearheaded Wildlife America is filled with a diverse array of wildlife that speaks to our nation’s heritage and identity as well as gives rise to a deep sense of wonder, beauty, and awe. Indeed, both St. Augustine and Martin Luther encourage us to read the “book of nature” to better understand the mystery and majesty of the Creator. Along these lines EarthKeepers 360 worked with leaders from Hispanics Enjoying Camping, Hunting and the Outdoors (HECHO) to pass local resolutions in support of wildlife corridors. EarthKeepers 360 also is leading trips for military Forest American veterans Leaders from Earth Keepers traveled to D.C. to help advocate for passage of this landmark legislation. Ideas like the Outdoor Equity Fund and The Every Kid Outdoors Act can help transform the youth of our nation.
