I’m vegan, and to compensate when I need extra protein I use Garden of Life raw protein powder in the chocolate version. There are a few other flavors, but I’ve only tried the chocolate. It must be a full moon out; everyone is asking protein questions. My issue is how to get a protein shake that is low sugar (including from fruit), soy free, and artificial ingredient free. Quest bars are one of the better mixed bars.. but they are pricey! I think the Luna ones might be next as well.. but again $$$ I think Walmart sells some that are 20g protein, but the Protein bars and powders range purchased two large jars have the most! Hey all! I need to add more protein to my diet, I haven’t been paying much attention along my journey, but my trainer told me to get at least 100 grams a day. As far as the protein question goes, the general recommendation is roughly to get 0.6-1.0 grams per lb of bodyweight, but really as long as you got at least 100-120 grams total, you’d be fine. If I don’t think either is better, they’re just different. I use a combination. I find that bars are much more palatable, but they’re also more expensive and usually have less protein for the calories.
