Opinions on a SWR Workingman’s 4004 Hi guys So, I unfortunately need to downsize my amp. I have a 600W Trace Elliot with a 4×10 cab, and it sounds double that. Seriously, on 1, it’s disruptive to practise at home, and I really don’t need all that power. A guy has offered cash + trade for a SWR 4004 with a 1×15 cab. Buy the Peavey. I have a Workingman 4004 as a backup because I made the mistake of buying it. They are weak on volume, and the graphic EQ is not enough for good tone shaping. I’ve owned several Peavey heads/amps, all were very good for the money paid. They can be honky in the mids and/or raw on the bottom until you figure out how to dial I need a giggable them in, but Anyhow, the 4×10 and 1×15 sounds great w/ the 4004. I’ve owned this rig for 2 years, and the rig has done me well, although, I have had a couple instances where I was really pushing the amp, and it cut out on me (once live on stage!). There is no fan, but a heatsink on the back of the amp. Maybe I just pushed it too hard.
