For over 75 years, The Flying High Circus has remained a special tradition at Florida State University. Introduced as an extracurricular activity to integrate men and managers and women during FSU’s transition to a coeducational institution, W4FSU celebrates and reflects on the university’s work to preserve the history and legacy of the circus.

The FSU Flying High Circus reserves the Circus Parking Lot, located across from the Wildwood Residence Halls on performance days. The Circus Lot will close at Noon on Thursdays of the first performance and reopen at 9:30 PM the following day. The FSU Circus comes to Panama City with a summer camp unlike any other. Campers will have the opportunity to experience a variety of circus skills and disciplines in this week-long day camp on the Panama City during FSU campus of Florida State University. The FSU Circus has helped me grow my personal communication skills and my courage. I’ve learned to build teams and work with teams of many different personalities. Being teammates in the Circus taught me how to earn someone’s trust and to trust someone else. I’ve also learned that I can do more than I think I can. The FSU Flying High Circus Presents COSMIC!

Students with the FSU Flying High Circus helped assemble the new big top tent. (Evan Eisenstark/Division of Student Affairs) In just half an hour, three twisters tore through Tallahassee on May 10, 2024, flattening trees, tearing roofs and shredding one of Florida State University’s most beloved landmarks: the Flying High Circus tent. FSU Flying High Circus had to replace everything that was destroyed, including the big top tent fabric, steel structures, seating and even concrete foundation.
